US Survey: Promotional products more effective than other advertising media

March 2010

USA – A survey carried out by the American branch association, PPAI, has delivered new evidence for the effictiveness of promotional products. On behalf of the association the market research institute, MarketTools Inc., interviewed 1,000 representative American consumers at the end of 2009 about promotional products, TV, print and online advertising.
94% of the persons interviewed were able to recall having received a promotional product during the past 24 months, 89% could also remember the promoting company. 83% stated that they liked promotional products in general and 69% usually keep the products.
As far as the response is concerned promotional products are also heading the field according to the survey: Consumers addressed using promotional products purchase the corresponding product much more frequently (20.9%) than those who are addressed per print (13.4%), TV (7.1%) or online (4.6%). More than half of the recipients of promotional products had a positive impression of the promoting company – the percentage is also much higher here than in the print (33.2%), TV (27.7%) or online sectors (11.9%).

'I really just wanted to say a big thankyou to you and your team for pulling out all the stops to turn our order round. You did a brilliant job. The quality of the fleeces, the embroidery and the price we agreed on were more than satisfactory!!!'
